3-Day Ouarzazate to Erg Chegaga Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Zagora – Mhamid
Your driver meets you in Ouarzazate before you travel south. Cross the landscapes of the Anti-Atlas and reach Agdz, at the entrance to the Draa Valley. This region offers views of mountains, traditional earthen villages and long palm groves along the Draa River.
Continue towards Zagora along the valley. Traditional villages and old kasbahs appear along the road. You can stop along the way to enjoy the scenery and take photographs. After Zagora, continue to Mhamid, at the edge of the desert. Overnight in the Mhamid area, depending on your accommodation arrangements.
Day 2: Mhamid – Erg Chegaga – Desert Discovery
After breakfast, travel towards Erg Chegaga. A desert track crosses the open landscape and gradually leads to the large dunes. Along the way, you can see sandy areas, dry plateaus and isolated rocky formations that shape this part of the Sahara.
On arrival in the Erg Chegaga area, enjoy time to appreciate the scenery and the quiet surroundings. Optional activities can be arranged according to your preferences and local availability. Later in the day, watch the colours of the dunes change as the sun sets. Overnight in the Erg Chegaga area, according to your accommodation arrangements.
Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Mhamid – Zagora – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Enjoy the early morning light over the dunes before returning by desert track towards Mhamid. From there, continue along the road through the Draa Valley towards Zagora. Palm groves and traditional villages accompany the journey north.
After a stop in the Agdz area, continue through the Anti-Atlas landscapes towards Ouarzazate. Your driver drops you off at your accommodation or at the agreed location. This 3-day Erg Chegaga tour ends in Ouarzazate.
