3-Day Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Leave Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane before continuing through the cedar forest region and towards Midelt. The road crosses mountain landscapes and the Tizi n’Talghamt pass before reaching the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and traditional villages. Continue through Erfoud and Rissani towards Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. On arrival, settle into your accommodation and enjoy your first views of the Sahara. Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity to admire the changing colours of the dunes at sunset.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Enjoy the desert surroundings in the morning. Depending on your selected package, a camel ride or another desert activity may be arranged. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and travel through Rissani, a historic trading town, towards the Todra Gorges. Take time to admire the high rock walls and the oasis below. Continue through the southern landscapes towards the Dades Valley, passing villages and rocky scenery along the way. Arrive in the valley and settle into your accommodation for the night.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, travel through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura oasis towards Ouarzazate. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy time to explore its traditional earthen architecture and narrow lanes. In the afternoon, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. The mountain road offers impressive views before descending towards Marrakech. Arrival is expected later in the day. Please note that the drive from the desert region to Marrakech is long and includes several stops.
