3 Days Tour From Marrakech to Fez Itinerary
Depart early from vibrant Marrakech. Heading into the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Along the way, pause for breathtaking views and visit a women’s Argan oil cooperative. Where you’ll discover the secrets of this precious Moroccan product. As you descend into the south, arrive at the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village of earthen clay that has starred in countless films. After exploring this ancient site.
Ouarzazate and Dades valley
continue toward Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco.” The journey continues past the palm groves of Skoura and through Kelaat M’Gouna. The Valley of Roses, before arriving in the stunning Dades Valley. Here, dine and stay overnight in a charming guesthouse nestled between the canyon walls.
After breakfast, explore the fascinating rock formations of Dades—especially the famous “Monkey Fingers” cliffs—and drive through tiny Berber villages and green valleys. As you head toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge, towering red limestone walls welcome climbers and wanderers alike. Walk through this narrow canyon and enjoy panoramic views of traditional ksour (fortified villages).
Erfoud and Merzouga desert
After lunch near Erfoud or Rissani, known for their date markets and fossil workshops, continue to the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga. Here, your 4x4 adventure pauses for a traditional welcome with mint tea. Depending on your package, enjoy either a relaxing stay at a desert kasbah or prepare for a camel ride into the dunes for a night in a nomad-style desert camp under the stars.
Awaken early for the surreal experience of watching the sun rise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, a moment of true desert serenity. After a traditional breakfast and, if applicable, a camel ride back to Merzouga, your journey to Fez begins.
Ziz valley - Azrou - Ifrane - Fez
Travel north through the sweeping Ziz Valley, a lush corridor of palm groves and kasbahs carved through the arid mountains. Stop for lunch in Midelt, nestled between the High and Middle Atlas. The route continues through cedar forests, home to wild Barbary macaques, and past Berber towns like Azrou and Ifrane, Morocco’s “Little Switzerland.” Arrive in Fez by evening, ending your unforgettable journey through Morocco's ever-changing landscapes.
